Causes of Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS)
Causes of Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS)
No one really knows exactly why women get premenstrual syndrome (PMS), including scientists and healthcare professionals, or for that matter why some women get it worse than others. But they generally suggest that it comes from a mixture of hormonal changes, genetics, nutrition and psychological factors.
Is there a genetic link for the causes of PMS?
Why are some women more susceptible to PMS than others? Some researchers believe that the answer has to do with heredity. Women whose mothers and sisters have PMS are more likely to have it themselves, although studies have yet to prove the genetic link. The PMS association has an interesting review of the genetic causes of PMS.
