www.pmshealthcare.co.uk is our new site that brings together information and products to help take control of the symptoms of PMS and other conditions that women experience.

Why? A number of reasons really. The internet provides varying degrees of information about female hormone related conditions, and yet we have found very few that specifically have the combination of good scientifc information and products in the same place. A friend of mine suffers massively from mood swings and depression but received very little insightful help from her Doctor.  It's really hard to find reliable information if you are not a scientist. I managed to find research into the use of anti-depressants for the treatment of PMS, which her Doctor had not heard of. It made me think how many other women could be helped if they could only get the right support.  

But for us this is not just about PMS but the other health issues that we experience that are different from our male friends, partners and colleagues. So many of them seem to be linked to the impact of hormones. We hope over time to gather data, expererience and research to establish greater understanding and ultimately better ways of treating these conditions.   

We will keep a blog to share our observations, comment on related female issues and generally provide a forum for people to ineteract with us.

This site is actually an off shoot of our orginal site www.ibshealthcare.co.uk which provides products and information for irritable bowel syndrome. As interesting point, I have often noticed that my IBS is worse during my periods. Certainly IBS is something that appears to be more prevalent in women (see our recent article on this) but to date I have little scientific reserach that looks at the link between IBS and PMS. I will keep looking.
